Synonyms: The carbonate Panvel Fm of Zutshi et al. (1993) is considered as junior synonym of the more clayey Alibag Fm. But listed separately here to be consistent with NDRDGH.gov stratigraphic chart for Mumbai offshore.
Lithology and Thickness
NDRDGH.gov Mumbai stratigraphic chart indicates carbonate; but Raju's column had shown as clay-dominated.

Lower contact
Unconformably overlies the Mukta Fm
Upper contact
Unconformably overlain by the massive limestone of the Ratnagiri Fm. Over another part of the Bombay High DCS Block, the limestone of the Bombay Fm overlies the Panvel Fm
